Why watercolor?
Is it the way the light bounces off the white paper through the paint, the way the colors run together, or layer like stained glass? Is it the need for meticulous planning along with adapting to happy accidents? Or, the way the brush feels as it scumbles across the textured paper?
Watercolor owned my attention the first time I held a brush to good paper. The connection between precision and uncontrolled flow completely captivated me. And I think that is me summarized by my choice of media - a free-flowing, intuitive, Bohemian entranced with physicality while simultaneously obsessed with technical details, research, and precision.
